Empty Bowls Binghamton General Hospital
The Empty Bowls event concept is an international grassroots effort to raise money and awareness in the fight against hunger. Since its inception in a high school ceramics class in 1990, Empty Bowls projects have engaged hundreds of thousands of individuals and raised millions of dollars.
For a $25 donation, event attendees enjoy a delightful selection of soups, salads, breads and desserts provided by Sodexho Health Care Services and select a hand-made ceramic bowl to keep from Clayworks at Roberson Museum. Bowls serve as a reminder of the problems surrounding hunger and food insecurity. Funds raised from this event benefit the United Health Services Foundation STOP Hunger Fund and the Food Bank.
