HUNGER ACTION MONTH 2013
September is Hunger Action Month - Show Your Support & Go Orange!
National Wear Orange Day is Thursday, September 5th
September is Hunger Action Month and we are all going orange - the color of hunger relief - on September 5th! The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is asking people, businesses, civic organizations, elected officials, and congregations to Go Orange this month to show their support for hunger awareness. Orange is the color for hunger awareness.
Post your photos on the Food Bank's Facebook page if you're wearing orange anytime this month, in support of hunger awareness!
Here are some quick ideas on how to get involved:
ADVOCATE for those who struggle to put food on their table
ORGANIZE a food or fund drive benefiting the Food Bank of the Southern Tier
VOLUNTEER at the Food Bank or one of our member agencies in your community
EXPERIENCE the SNAP challenge and discover what it is like to live on $4.50 a day
SHARE YOUR STORY about volunteering for the Food Bank, helping the hungry or experiencing hunger yourself
Don't let Congress push us over the Hunger Cliff!! Visit the Hunger Cliff website for more information and resources.
