At the close of the 5th Annual Canstruction of the Southern Tier competition, presented by Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLP, nine structures resulted in 24,844 pounds, valued at $41,241, and over $13,500 in event sponsorships donated to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier as a result of this incredible event!

is an international hunger-relief competition where architects, engineers and contractors compete to design
and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. At the close of the competition, all of the food from Canstruction of the Southern Tier will be donated to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

Participants will compete to build unique structures made entirely of canned foods. 100% of the canned foods used for Canstruction will be donated to the Food Bank to support local hunger-relief efforts. Winners of Canstruction of the Southern Tier will be nominated for the chance to compete on a national level..

The Southern Tier is joined by 100 cities across North America who will hold Canstruction competitions in the coming year. Highlighting the creativity and compassion of top architectural and engineering firms, these astounding structures are helping to change the world � by lifting the spirits of those in need, by raising public awareness, and most importantly, by collecting millions of pounds of food for local food banks.
