What is the Community Educator Program?

The Hunger Education Program in the past has been limited by the capacity of Food Bank staff to facilitate activities. Enlisting committed community volunteers who are trained by the Food Bank to teach both the Hunger 101 and Hunger Scholars lessons is a key part of our strategy to deepen the impact of the Hunger Education Program. These “Community Educators” may already be working with a youth group and want to integrate hunger scholars curriculum into their work or they may want to be “on-call” and facilitate with groups in their community that express an interest in Hunger Education programming.
